Our staff and their commitment to their work as well as their pride in our collective achievements is what has made our practice renown. We have been in Suva, Fiji for over 40 years and a number of our people have been with us over 30 years. At least half of our staff came to us as school leavers and several of our overseas students doing their 6 month practical with us have become famous in their own right. We feel this is an achievement on its own. In 2007 we established an office in Auckland and have had offices in Sydney during 2000-2002 which we may well open it again very shortly. We have affiliated offices in Singapore and Shanghai. We have a very successful client in China with whom we are working on our fourth very large residential project.
So, to our philosophy. We don't want to be stiff or stuffy about this so we just say that our designs are only a product of the interaction of the client. Working in close communication using what we call ‘Workshops’ is our tried and tested management of the concept design. We strongly believe that if the client is made fully cognisant of each design step we take and the rationale behind decisions made, voicing their opinion on aesthetics and practicality of what is after all a subjective matter, an excellent result will eventuate. It is the opposite of the poorly regarded ‘committee decision’ solution.
Our communication skills have been honed by the advent of the Internet, Skype, Websites and Mobile phones. This technology has revolutionised our working attitude and response time. No matter where we are in the world we can see and talk to each other, show drawings and sketch diagrams on skype and instantly get results, debate and make decisions. It is a far cry from the telex days! Our delays now are manmade but being in Fiji and New Zealand we have the march on most countries because we get to work first in the new day!
